| I´m planing to build a small router, something like 16"x8" of usefull area and 2.5" in z axis, i like the Soltar design, looks very simple, and I was thinking in build a machine using their guide system, and building the body and the Gantry bridge with MDF, for the guide system I planing to use some "T" shape an "L" shape of extruded aluminium, and HDPE sliders, with threaded rod (5/16"). Do you think that this could be a good machine with NEMA 23 steppers (basically I will cut balsa, plywood, some plastics and PERHAPS... aluminium) Just a conceptual sketch |
