Sorry to ask this, but I am just trying to learn all about this fun stuff. I have a Clausing 8520. It is in Mint condition and I mostly mill T6061 Aluminum for my own custom street rods. My hands and arms are tired of turning the knobs all day long so I would like to figure out how to automate this fun. I need to figure out what size motor I need and what is the best mechanical way to attach it to my machine. I am not worried about maintaining hand held control. I figure once I have selected my motors and the attachments then I will use the Gecko 203 controller with MachIII. Thought would be great appreciated. Jeff |

| Hi, this is a hard one to answer. If your mill is a manual mill (you indicated it has hand cranks) you want to convert to cnc, try finding Elrod Machine (on the web) from Flagstaff Arizona, and talk to Dwayne. He has motor mounts and all the stuff needed, like the most important thing you need right now, being "information" http://www.elrodmachine.com/ If this is a combo manual / cnc with a dead control, try a better description of your mill, and someone on this site could help you. |
