Begginer building plumbers pipe cnc

Hello my name is Rorion and i bought 3 stepper motors and i was told to run all three i would need a 18v 2amp power supply,.im really new and im not sure about alot of things like once i get the power supply how is the router controlled. I mean is it connected to the driver board with the stepper motors or do you turn it on and off yourself ? im not sure. I thoughth the plumbers pipe cnc machine which i found it on www.instructables.com which looked pretty easy but didnt give any lists of materials to make the slide for sure, any suggestions on what to make the slides out of for the x and y ? any suggestions would be greatly appreaciated. Ohhh by the way the information on the stepper motors is typ;e kp4m4-029.Thanks for any help
