Okay. I heard that "dovetail" style ways are the best. Is this correct? Who is a good AMERICAN manufacturer of linear ways? Is linear ways what you call the slides that the x and y axis slide on? Please help. |

| dovetail ways are normaly(no other way that i know of accualy) cut/ground in accual housing/base of machine, mill/lathe. What i believe you are looking for is what know as linear guide. Dont really know of any american manufacturers. Best quality guides that i know are THK from japan. Hope this helps, and if i'm wrong someone can correct me |
