I'm brainstorming about a gantry router I hope to start building soon. I hope to make if with a 4' wide gantry and either 6' or 8' feet long. I know this size poses alot of problems. To minimize lead screw whip, I thought of having the screw fixed and figuring out a way to turn the nut on it. This would have the stepper motor moving as the gantry moves. Has anyone done this? Are there any off the shelf parts to do this? Thanks, |
