Can anyone advise the cheapest place to bye step motors and controllers new for a cnc router to do wood and alloy? I've checked the web but there are so many and I'm not sure what specks I need I don't won't to get motors to small. I'm going to use MDF and 1/4 in ozito router. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks. |

| What size are you going to build it? I have some motors for sale, 2 100oz/in, 1 150 oz/in, 1 200 oz in, and a Nema 34 300 oz/in. Generally people use NEMA 23 motors I think, most of you bigger ones might use NEMA 34 size. But for what you are looking for prob stick to size 23. NEMA is the National Electrical Manufacturers Association it is just a spec standard. and 17, 23, and 34 are different sizes. If you are building a small router you could do with 100-200oz/in or so, bigger routers need bigger motors. |

| ok, so 2' sq. Gotta love conversions. Check out this site for a somewhat easy router w/ plenty of insturctions. http://www.instructables.com/id/How-...-Cheaply-and-/ Its not my favorite out there, but it is fairly easy. Takes alot of cam nuts though, and 100 oz/in motors should do fine on it I think. |
