My first CNC design "TCNC v5"

Hi CNC Zone

After many days, months and a few years of reading and learning from this community, i decided to make my 5th design. The first 4 designs will stay virtual ;-)

I still don't know how this will all work out, but i decided to give it a try.
I already started to buy the things that i will need and will post all my progress here. The biggest problem that i am having right now is to find all the local suppliers here in Vienna, Austria. Today (06.02.2008) i found a big aluminium supplier. I will also post this info here for anyone that is living in my area.

I named it TCNC v5 meaning (Table CNC v5).
Not a very interesting name, but i had to give it some kind of a name :-)

Well, that's it for now.....i hope you like it.

Smile Welcome to the CNCZone

Welcome to the CNCZone,

Good looking design. It contains all the componets to make a good running machine.
One thing that I might suggest would be to add a little support on the side uprights, MDF has proved not to be strong enough in this area on the builds here. They are adding a angle iron brace here to reinforce it see picture below.
Keep us posted with pictures when you start your build

Good luck

Sorry....have to get used to documenting stuff, i'm more of a tech guy :-)

And about the side support... i already thought about that, and i will put some kind of iron brace support which i will also use for the cabling.

Working area should be around 50X40cm (20X16in)
And the material is MDF or something similar. Whatever i can find here :-)

As Mr. Chips states you got a fairly solid start. Take his advice on the gantry.

I also think you need a top and bottom drawer in the cabinet to finish it off
