Newbie- Has anyone built the Pilot Pro or used one.

I am new to the whole cnc thing, I would like to get or build one for makeing signs and furniture parts. Ive been looking online at plans and kits and machines. this Pilot Pro looks to be a nice build and not too bad on the price. anyone have any info on this machine. has anyone built one or bought the kit.

Hi everyone. I'm wondering if someone could tell me about gearing the screwdrives.I am wondering if that just speeds up movement. Also when you do this does anything change in stepper motor as far as settings go? thanks in advance, c.sitas

Stepper motors usually direct drive screws. Stepper motors have high torque at low speeds and low rpm limits. The screw you choose is as close as you come to "gearing".
