I purchased some cnc plans. It's for a small table, but it should suffice my current needs. Here are my questions, and any help would really be appreciated. Here is the board I think I want to go with due to it's ease of use. The problem is, does anyone know what brand it is. Or is mechatronics the brand. http://video.google.es/videoplay?docid=-5281796970250102073&q=3axisdrive Second, what about a good affordable CNC program. Free or low cost. Just to give you an idea of what I need it to do. Here is a 3d image of the design I need to have routed. The board will be saw cut, it's just the pocketing and holes I would need routed. The rought dimension of the board are 9' x 18" http://www.clarkopace.com/images/cnccut.jpg Thanks! |

I used the hobbycnc board and motors for my build. It works well and has many users on this board, so it easy to find help if you need it. I use and recommend VcarvePro. At first glance it looks expensive, but is well worth it.

I would stick to well known brands of driver boards Hobbycnc, Xylotex and the like. Software: Sheetcam low cost and ideal for the part you posted. www.sheetcam.com John

I dont think mechatronics is the brand... I have looked at a lot of driver boards and I don't recongize that setup. Its running at 6A which interests me.. They also fail to show you the power supply setup in the video. If you want a similar "easy" setup at 3A the HobbyCNC is the way to go.

Hi I just ordered the mechatronics 4axes and a 36v power supply.Over the last 3 or 4 months I've seen a lot of them go on e-bay. I'm new to the cnc world. I picked up an old pr cable sys ShopBot 4 or 5 months ago with no card, driver or pc. My work dropped down to very little. I had done some work in return of a Gecko G540, an I'm still waiting. So I got the mechatronics on e-bay just to get it to work. I hope to get it next week ,so I'll let you know.
