| Does anyone know a low cost kit to do this? or Does anyone have plans for converting this china mill to CNC? I don't have 2-4k to spend on this so were talking a grand here. Thanks |

| I boot strapped my mill (see this thread http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29339 ) really cheaply. I used second hand electronics and motors and I already owned an extra computer but had to purchase software, so it isn't so simple to place a price on things but a grand is really cutting it close especially if you include the price of the mill. My recommendation would be to not try to scrimp too tightly because buying cheap CAN be more expensive. If you take the time to read all my threads you'll fing that I spent a lot more trying the "cheap" stuff. Take Gecko G203V for example three of them will run $450.00 plus a power supply but they are "unkillable". Human errors make them cheap by virtue of the fact that a mistake won't cost your controller. (No, I don't work for Gecko. I'm disabled and retired.) Anyhow, look over my build and I will be glad to answer questions and offer suggestions. |
