I am in the process of designing my first machine, and found a site that has all of the information you could ever want to know about leadscrews. http://www.nookindustries.com/acme/AcmeGlossary.cfm By following the links on the left of the page, I was able to find all the details on the size of Acme screw to use based on load and travel(needs to be larger than I had originally planned). It also had enough info to calculate required torque for the stepper motors(required torque is a lot less than I would have thought). Jeff |
