I'm wanting to cast my own parts for a CNC router, to be used on foam. I've hooked up with some local people to learn about the casting side of this, but am rather clueless about the CNC part. I have sourced 3 50oz steppers [just gotta pay the shipping], planning on using the PIC based 3 axis controller form Pminmo.com for the controller. Can I take like the JGRO plans, build it, and is that as patterns for casting? |

| Hi. Have you done any castings yet... Anything is possible with casting. It might just take a few tries to get it perfect. I finished my hobby foundry on the weekend and I am almost ready to do my first melt. Very exciting stuff but still not there yet. Nice thing about casting is that if you screw up you just remelt it and try again. Not sure about the size of the steppers. It might need more power to move the metal around.. |
