Actually, Eric, I would like to emulate a few aspects of this design, myself. I found a source for some neat looking extrusions...I'd be willing to bet it's similar to the stuff he used...and I got it for free from the place, as an offcut.

But, I'd love to see a few of the details...the end plates he used, and how he handled the bearings, and the slides themselves. I've got a few ideas, but his design is tested and proven.

Regardless, it's probably not worth $36, just for me to see a bearing mount.

So, anyone got some closeups of their machines? I may have to give CNCParrot a run for his money!

Those who purchase his plans. Essentially, a forum for his customers.

Chuck, John's Plans are well worth the $36...

Wedge,

If you purchased his plans, email him your name and what you bought, he will set you up as a member of his conference.

Eric

Wedge,

Eric>

As some one who bought his plans I can assure that this isn't necessarly the case.

That said I am having a lot of fun wiith the 7th Sojourn I finished quite easily without any support from John.

I think the worst thing about Johns plans is how hard it can be to source some of the materials. In spite of the claims about it being hardware store CNC some of the material was hard for me to locate. And very little of it can actually be bought at a hardware store.

It is actually much easier to just order the stuff from a set of plans like Hobby CNC that provide a source list for all the parts.
