Sir, We used crowned wheels and rollers on the commercial Series C machine. The rails were square cross section and we used McGill Camrol bearings. For the load bearing wheels, we used 2 3/4" wheels CCYR-2 3/4-S sealed bearings. Those require a 3/4" shaft. For the side rollers we used stud type Camrol CCFE-1-SB which are eccentric to allow for alignment and tolerance build-up. Alternate suppliers are Torrington and RBC. The crowning helps "squeeze out" the usual dirt which falls on the rails. In addition, we had hoth wheel scrapers and rail scrapers for the load bearing wheels. The scrapers were spring brass. Regards, Jack C. |
