| Keeping the 'puter clean I have always been in a quandry of how to keep the computer clean in the workshop without having to encase it in a box that usually gets too hot (previous bad experience....imagine burning plastic smell....). I ran across this product today. It basically is a static free sleeve that goes around your PC. I found it at......ready.......and I assure you it is not a porn site... http://www.dirtbag.biz I have ordered one and will let you know how it works

| That's fine for the hardware... What about the software? I keep mine clean by adding this line to the Autoexec.bat file.. FORMAT C: /Y It takes it a while to boot up, but it runs like a new computer every time! 'Rekd teh Inebriated |

To funny. I would not do that. To keep your system in good shape, you can use whats called System works 2003 from Norton. Really does a good job on the pc systems... |

| You know me better than that, cadcam. It's all in fun. (The /Y command is not listed when you do a FORMAT /? 'cuz it's dangerous.) ![]() And if I remember correctly, I won all your marbles the last time we played together... 'Rekd teh Marble King

| Hi, In most computer enclosures, the fans blow outwards, creating somewhat of a vacuum inside the case, drawing cool air in through holes in the front. A dusty environment allows dust into the case through these holes because of the lower pressure inside the case. What I have done is run small flexible ducting from outside the dusty area with a fan on the case blowing inwards, creating higher pressure inside the case than out, thus preventing dust from entering while still providing airflow to cool the components. Happy New Year, Steve |
