Newbie needs help building CNC

I want to build a small CNC I have seen some of the machines built on this site and want to do the same. I just want to create my first small CNC, nothing crazy, I want a 3 axis though. Maybe someone can help lead me in the right direction. I do have knowledge of CNC though, I work for a company where I program and operate a 6'x12' komo 3 axis CNC I use autocad and microvellum to program. We are a cabinet shop so majority of material is wood. please help me create a fun project CNC.

biggest help for you would be to spend few weeks reading the forums, you did come to right place and it will help you, but you need to donate some time to your project and go through others build logs, see what problems people ran into etc. Good luck

Hi lm. There are good plans available from Joe for an inexpensive system -- see thje subsection on Joe's routers in the DIY section. I'm also working on plans for a system that I will be giving away that uses parts from my website, www.cncrouterparts.com.

If you have access to a machine at work, you might be able to cut some really great parts for your system and save on cost. You could start with a nice torsion box table for a flat, rigid surface.
