Alexander D. Sprunt submitted his study of a 3D CNC router design variations for a Bachelor's degree at MIT in 2000.

For those looking for equations. I find the vacuum one interesting.

It is a interesting design but did this guy actually build a working model? I didn't see a picture.

That's why Document Control has 2 sets of files: Design docs and As Built docs

That link is from mid 2004, and has probably been moved or deleted since then. Google the document name and see if you find it.
