Hi all, Me and 2 partners are starting a cnc router Project. We already orderd 3 drives Geckodrive 201 + 3 motores RHT 34-740 740oz.in + Board PMDX131. The objective is to make a solid cnc machine with some accuracy and with around 2,1m x 1,2m workable area. Another concern will be making a flexible router that can change from a mill to a plasma cutter with no big fuss. I’m in charge mostly of the mechanical study and construction of the beast… and guess that I’ll start posting some questions very soon. Cheers and congratulations for the forum. |

| Hi all… and thanks studysession! After searching local dealers (INA, SKF, ITEM) I think I’m going to settle for PMI/AMT ball screw and guides. We’ve also decided to make the table slightly larger (2,3 x 1,4m). I’m considering using only one ball screw for the x axis and almost risking putting it on one side of the table and not underneath the table (at the center). I guess my major concern will have to be rigidity of the x movement. Two carriages per linear guide should be a must for the x axis. Any insight on these thoughts will be appreciated? |
