Hi,

I use stepper drives from the same manufacturer and am very happy with them.

You need to keep in mind that if you are going to route timber you will very likely want to wire your stepper motors bipolar parallel if you are directly driving the screw.

The first motor has a high phase inductance 43mH and volts rating so would not recommend it for your application.

The second motor if run bipolar parallel would need a higher Amps rated drive (5.7+Amps) to get anywhere near the rated holding torque.

Without knowing the specs of your machine it is not really possible to recommend a stepper motor. There are programs and threads that help calculate the power you would require for your machine so a good search or if anyone else can link to a thread would be the place to start. Then look for the best stepper motors that meet your needs and drives that match your motors.

Hope this helps,

John

I have the Hobby cnc pro board (4 axis) on a foamcutter with 80 oz. steppers. I am now looking at converting my mill/drill using the 305 oz. steppers as I learned quite a bit from the first project.(still learning)
If I am not mistaken your controller power supply is 12 or 24 volts. The HCNC board will go up to 42 volts and 3 amps per axis. My feeling on this is if you use a 24 volt transformer and after you get it regulated you will be well over 24 volts. I would do some checking before purchasing.
I would also reccomend taking the info previous and build your machine before ordering your electronics. Bit of a problem if you change mid stream and try something else.
John
