The build has begun

I have the Z axis/tool holder finished and I am working on setting up the Y axis gantry uprights.
At the moment everything is locked down to a leveling table.
Still waiting for my ACME screws to arrive.

I added a couple new pages of pic's

Got lots done this week, it's looking like a router now.
Still no ACME screws yet.

Pretty nice design - . but the use of massive woods... no trouble with deformation due humidity or sun?

Oak hardwood is way more stable than sawdust, which is what MDF is.

The red oak I am using is very hard and dense.

I know what MDF means. But I thought for you dont' use multiplex ( not that MDF Stuff whicht is everything but not stable - the natural grown fibre will work under environmental influences... how long did you store the wood before it has been gut to parts???....

For my baseplate I use 21 mm Multiplex - it is also used for frames for cement moulds - very stable..

I had the oak in storage for a couple years before using it.
This is just a test machine. I will build an aluminum machine after I see what works and what doesn't using the oak machine.

... Then you keep this in backup for slicing your breakfast bread. Dropping the jam and cnc - plasma toasting your toast .

Great woodwork ( profession???) - after you have oak in storage?????

Woohoo!
It's up and running and it's working great so far.

The first project was to make a new Z axis assembly, and that came out great thanks to Cambam.

I had my first tool crash.
