Hi About a year ago I bought a spindle and had the bearings changed. All up it cost me $30. I would like to use it as a heavy duty spindle for milling hard materials (mild steel maybe?) My cnc router is quite big ( 1200mm * 1000mm * 180mm cutting envelope) made from 3mm mild steel welded. The end shown has a thread which looks about 1/2 in diameter and overall length is about 300mm. The other end is slotted and takes a pulley cluster. The bearings are stamped with the numbers 6304ZZ I think. They are probably automotive bearings. It is reasonably stiff to turn but smooth and no slop. My question is it useable or would it make a better boat anchor? Andy
