I am so close to been finished. All I have to do is wire it up. I have run each axis as a temporary set up and it runs great. A few limit switches and a router and its finished. I recon 4 days away maximum. I know it is a horror to any true engineer, but I am happy for my first attempt. |

| Don't look like any horror to me! A bid like an Erector Set, sure, but at least you are almost done.

| The ratio is only 3:1 I was hoping to gear it down more but it ws going to be too expensive and too much of a hassle. It would have meant double reduction gearing. It still pulls very hard...I cant stop it with my body weight. |

| Pitch? Just asking cos I went for 15/30 and 15/60 x 5 mm Pitch and my 60 looks much smaller than yours.(also trying to get an idea of scale for your machine as it's hard to tell by the pic) (my guess going by the PIES catalog is 10 mm pitch) |

| Now I am showing ignorance. I dont know the pitch and I really dont know what that means. I am presuming it is the distance between the teeth. I measuered from the center of one tooth to the center on the next tooth and its 10 mm ( Gee I prefere metric talk ) Measuring from the bottom of the gantry to the top of the top servo is 850mm. How is your machine going anyway? Why dont you post a picture. I might request for this thread to be moved to the Aussie forum. |

| Benny: Bingo you're correct it's the distance between teeth !I now have all of the parts I need to assemble my machine just not the time to do it yet! I picked up the longer ballscrew I needed last week and once I finish work on a run of production parts I'm doing now I'll get stuck into it. I intend posting a detailed step by step in the Aussie room once I start on it (it's killing me having all these cool parts sitting there and having to use my manual machine) Let me know here when your machine is up and running and I'll pop over and have a look at it working if that's ok with you (I'm only 10 minutes away). ![]() click to enlarge Last edited by IJ.; 04-26-2004 at 05:14 PM. |
