I can't be your guide Dan, Im not experienced enough, but if you look for help on this site you should get a wealth of responses....just ask the right questions. ![]() So to start, do you want to build one machine to do all three of those things you said, or three machines?

It both simple and complicated. Dont count on having a super precise cnc lathe without being willing to spend a lot of $ on expensive ballscrews and servos. I think ive only seen one plan for retrofitting a mini lathe. If you dont have the time or are willing to take this as a learning experience, i can suggest taking a look at http://www.syilamerica.com/ or other already retrofitted machines. For a first build router take a look a the solsylva, a lot of people have started there (including myself) and has a nice step by step guide for only 25$

for metals/plastics look at www.onlinemetals.com Looks like good start. Not sure what electric board thingy you are talking about. But i guess either break out board or stepper driver. If so you can find these at keling.com or also from few other vendors. I suggest starting new thread in electronics section.
