I am new to CNC and had a question about adjusting the depth of the z-axis throughout a cut. I will be desigining in adobe illustrator. How would you adjust z-axis to print characters on a part and then chane the depth to cut out the part? |

| You will need to set the Z depth in the program that creates the G code, like Mach or Kcam. I have read about creating in layers, then saving the layers as seperate files, each to be used with a different cut depth. I too am new at CNC. I know my way around Illustrator, but not cad programs. So far I have not had good results with DXF files from Illustrator. They don't come out the right size when opened in a cad program. (?) John |
