The wood is burning

Hi -

I am making my first cuts with my DIY router. For now using a dremel which will be replaced with a Hitachi router.

Anyway -
Using a pointed bit supposed to be good for wood. Practicing with the cuts on MDF. Sometimes the cuts are burnt and sometimes not. It is not consistant. What do I do to prevent the burned look??

The burning is usually due to the bit standing in the same place too long.
With a router I would say cut faster or slow the spindle down. Not sure about a dremel, should be the same but too fast and you may break the bit.
