Need advice/help

I have been offline for a while, but was still building my DIY Router. I have a problem -

I have it almost ready for testing (real cuts). One problem - When the z-axis goes up it doesn't do so well now that my router is mounted. Since pretty much means "Just Extra Weight". Would that mean I need a stronger stepper motor?

Before mounting the router - it went up and down just fine.

just add some counter balance, what i did on my second machine was add two springs one on each side, this helped raise the z-axis, i removed leadscrew, then add springs and let it sortof bounce by itself, meaning will not so all the way to the bottom.
