...just a note..
the file size for posting photos has been increased to 8k.
It should be implimented soon if not already.....

..however, it used to be 80k...wow no wonder your pic is so small. Great though that you built it yourself! looks nice from what I can see.... Cadman I think will adjust the photo limit size.

Yes 8k is all done but your pics still need to be no bigger than 800x800.

All parts are old, new, surplus, scrap and reused/recycled. I went
to eBay auctions, electrical surplus stores and aluminum suppliers
to get remnant tooling plate and various other odds and ends.

The main reasion it took 1.5 years building, I resized the XY for
a larger footprint. Had to offset the X to the rear of the machine
to get longer travel.

Persistence does payoff if the goal stays in focus.

Very nice looking machine. What did it cost to build, including any new tools you bought to manufacture it?

I, too, would like to see some pictures of it in action and/or some parts it has cut.

I bought a well used 1956 Atlas/Craftsman 104... 6" lathe for
$300 and a 10" x 5/8" Bench Mount Drill Press from HF $200
HF Drill/Mill $800, Tooling: Drills, reamers, cutters etc. $700
Equipment Total: $2000

Materials for router also included the controller + chassis/box,
switches, power supply, wiring and connectors, all eBay stuff
and all of the misc. parts, total cost about: $1500

The lathe & drill press did most of the initial work. I acquired the
Drill/Mill after most of the work was done. I used the D/M for the
router rebuild and also for IC engine projects. Comes in very handy.

Cost of stuff sure adds ... doesn't it ...
