First I was going to go with 1/2 acme. After a couple weeks I decided to go with ballscrews. I bought a single nut SKF 10mm system. What kind of accuracy am I to expect with this?

| Typically, if its precision ground the error is around .0005/ft or less . If it is precision rolled, around .004/ft. The thing to watch with a single nut is backlash, The best is a preloaded nut but these put the price up quite a bit. Al

| http://www.linearmotion.skf.com/Cata...,13955&Lang=EN It's a non preload rolled. Yes yes, I know this is the lower end of ballscrews, but is it going to have decent precision?

I actually just got done making a very small first run try at a 3 axis machine. Bearings and screws seemed to work wonderfully. I now have a pair of bearings and screws which may work good for you. They are 37 inch long 1" dia , 4 turns per inch, route Maybe you would like to take a look . I have posted all the information that I thought I needed to use them. But it was just going to be to big of a project. Item number: 3804800919 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=3804800919 |
