just want to start off by saying hi to everyone i joined the forum couple weeks ago. i've just been reading and looking at the pictures and seen some pretty cool machines so the other day i went out and bought a sheet of MDF 3/4" and i saw on some projects people use gase pipe but i bought dont know what its called its the pipe u use ti stick electrical wire in dont know if that will work for what im trying to build dont know if it needs to be thicker. i saw some pictures of the "Phoenix" i know if i wanna build it right i should buy the plans but i wanted to see if i can do it all just by the pictures. the only thing i dont really know about is the stepper motors and the controller for the motors the i kinda have an idea on how the lead screw works but not that good and the aluminum channel dont know if thats the same as angle iron? id appriciate any help i can get and i'll get some pictures up as soon as i take some |

| Welcome....if this is your first attempt and you don't have access to a bunch of metal working tools and such....then I would recommend the JRGO....he even has a kit of pre-cut pieces if you don't have access to woodworking equipment. Xylotex....well however that is spelled is an excellent entry controller....lets you get your feet wet without drowning you in debt....the main thing is to complete the first CNC router....later on you can do a more sophisticated / elaborate and expensive system. |
