Cool Router suggestion

Would a ryobi panel router be OK for some mild wood projects, but mainly alot of cutting out 1/4" phenolic plastic?
Not too sure of the router choice. Other router recommendations are welcome also.

I use a Rigid trim router and it works pretty good. Im not moving at a blistering pass either. The only one that I dont think would work is the ryobi battery trim router. Im not an expert but I dont think it has enough umph.

Just to give you alittle more about the Rigid. I just used it to cut some 3/4 Oak Plywood and did it at a 1/4 inch pass. I was doing this by hand so I cant give you and speeds. Oh and the bit was 1/4 endmill sprial upcut. I can say that it cut it like butter. Smooth but needed alittle force. For 80 bucks at home depot I couldnt beat it.

Oyeah some people use Dremel tools I think it just a matter of how fast you feel like going and how deep you want to go.

Speaking of router choice...

Which of this style of "spindle" offers the most flexible collet or chuck?

I'm using the Hitachi (1/4 or 1/2 inch bits) but would consider purchasing if I found a router with a 1/8" and 3/8" capacity. I think someone mentioned the Porter Cable as having a 3/8" collet available, are there others (codeword cheaper)?

What are the rest of yous guys using?

Buy me a Beer?

I don't think you'll find anything cheaper. Yes, you can get 3/8 collets for the PC. for 1/8" bits, you can get 1/4" to 1/8" adapter bushings. Another option is to get an ER collet chuck. Not cheap, but you can get collets from 1/64" and up.
