What does everyone use for their power supplies? Maybe a PC power supply or something else? I had to reduce the size of my machine I am building due to funds. Instead of a 5 foot by 5 foot butting area it will have a 3 foot by 3 foot. Will have to upgrade later. I also ordered some 8020 aluminum for the Y axis. Need to figure out how I will do the bearings for it though. I do not want to use the plastic bearings they have for 8020. Doesn't seem like it will do as well.

| Your power supply will depend on the controller and motors you use. If you do a search, there are several links here to power supply circuits. The simplest is a transformer, bridge rectifier, and capacitor. Here's a picture of my controller with the HobbyCNC card. It has a 24V 10A supply. The transformer is from MPJA, everything else except for the lighted on/off switch, came with the HobbyCNC kit. |
