The plans I purchased (Rockcliff) called for using a Dremel as the spindle. However, I purchased a Trimmer Router which weighs 3 times the Dremel. Any Ideas on making a counterweight or spring attached to the Y-Axis to compensate for the extra Z-Axis weight? I am worried I will burn out my steppers. I thought to use the springs in a window shade, as they are designed for large movement. The return spring from a drill press are only designed for 1-3 inch travel. A Bungie cord does not have consistant pull as it is stretched. |
