I am interested in implementing and Automatic tool changer. Looking for some ideas, do you have any? One that drew my attention when I first signed up to the this web site I remember seeing someone who had implemented one with Joe's design. It was based on a router with a quick disconnect and the quick changer was at one end and the quick disconnect slide into a stone like material (might have been painted). If someone recalls or knows of this setup can you please point me in the right direction. |

| I got the idea from JLT and Joe. They both seem happy with it and the router I got... So I bought both (my router was 25 years old and almost dead). As I only got it installed last night and completed around 10:30 I only got to play with it for about 5 minutes before I hit my machining curfew (tool loud upstairs for sleepers)... that may change with how quite the new router is. My findings in about 5 minutes of machining. I was flexed a little when I cut a 5/8 wide grove .25" deep into a 2*4" at F5. I then when F15 at .125 (work my way up to this feed rate) and it just purred. As I increased the feed rates the flexing (chattering) went away. At this point I believe I was moving to slow, but more tests this weekend will confirm this. As JLT and Joe have been using this adaptor more I would ask them. Here are some links that I have kept for my tool change Pictures of the tool changer: http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showpo...2&postcount=84 Where to get it http://www.hightechsystemsllc.com/index.htm How to do tool changing with Mach3 http://www.machsupport.com/ToolChange/Tool_Change.swf More stuff Two more of Joe's CNC Model 2006 I hope this all helps |
