Yes. It is two pieces, with a spring between that spreads them apart. These are nice nuts!

You need to make sure that the number of thread starts, and the lead is the same. And the diameter ofcourse.

I JUST HEARD FROM MC MASTER CARR. THE NUT AND ROD WON'T FIT.

I looked at them in the catalogue and they seem to match e.g. lead starts diam etc. Did they say why not and what will fit? I was about to order exactly that.

they didn't say other than the nuts that fit the rod are on the same page of the catalog.
