Cheap Fine dust extractor LIDL UK

Saw this being advertised in LIDL today and thought you may like the heads up. With its fine dust filter it should be ideal as an extractor for the DIY router.

No I bought a screwfix extractor for over £100 last(might return it now).

It takes a variety of filters(at least 2 types supplied). For are application the fine dust filter would be best. It looks simlar to the screwfix filter(pleated drum covered in brown paper) which extracts 0.5 micron size particules.

Thanks for the link BigZ1; I got the other half to get me one today figured at that price you can’t go wrong.

First impressions are good ,it has a socket for a wall plug built in for plugging in your power tools so no extension needed (good heavy cable). Only thing is that the air outlet come straight out the back so if your in line its like standing next to a jet engine (well a bit like that) blows the work shop dust about a bit and could do with some sort of baffle to stop it. I will have it running a few hrs tomorrow so will see what its made of. One other thing if your going to use it for fine dust (sanding dust) it needs a bag fitted.

Thanks again,

John

John my screwfix drum filter has a brown bag to cover it for fine dust. Is this the same on the ALDI filter?

No not the same it actually uses full bags to collect the dust like all vacuums did before the cyclones came out. Still ok for me though as I mainly cut ply but would need it for MDF or sanding dust.

I am thinking about using the same bags that you talk about (rap round the filter) see no problem with that idea. I some times think they use the old style bags just to make more money.

One other thing I had the vacuum on for about 10mins today and noticed the air coming from the out let was quite worm so may help heat my small home workshop lol. Like I say will run it hard tomorrow and see how it copes. I would say it’s defiantly worth the £35 even if you end up using it to just clean up the workshop.
