That sparks an idea - How about in the "new and improved site" a Category for, Stuff (the Things) that Work - or have been used with direct links to the Source - Sort of a Users' Catalog of Bits and Pieces. It could feature an image and then the various links. Maybe a similar Category for the really cool homegrown or free/shareware software too?
