Ya ya I know.. I'm a wimp.. Just want to double check my numbers Using Mach 3... Have my 16 Teeth, 1" Pitch Diameter on my rack. Should be PI per turn 3.14159 Through my 10:1 gear that would devide to 0.314159" per turn of the motor.. So the question is what is the Steps per. And what should I use in the Step pulse 1-5US and Dir 0-5 Kinda just guessed for my mill. on the steps per pulse and Dir entrys.. Have them set to 2.. This is the motor with the 500 CPR (2000 ppr quad) incoder on it so that is what is throwing me. |

| 2000/.314159 = 9549.3 steps per inch.

| Ok... 360 deg's / 3.14159 = 114.59165 deg's per inch. if we take 2000 steps per 360 degs we get 5.555555 deg's per step. Through the 10:1 I'm amplifying the 114.59165 degs per inch by 10 which would be 1145.9165 degrees per inch. 1145.9165 x 5.555555 = 6366.2021411575 So the winner would be draw bar in my mind to. Although I've found that Mach likes something likes something just over 1000 steps per playing with th gantry moving ti with a dial indicator. I'll have to get the exact figure I stuck in there tonight. But as I recall it was less then 2000 Pretty darn sure I have mach set to inches rather then mm's b. |

I'm going to blame that on my wireless keyboard that likes to drop keystrokes.
