Z axis assembly

I am building a cnc router the x and y axis are ready but not i have to make the z axis can someone tells me from where i can get a plan of a z axis , i need a travel between 3 and 6 inches can someone help me find a good design

Can yoy post what you have done so far.

Also will need to know what type of bearings are you going to use? Ballscrew or ACME? Router type etc.

I have not designed nothing and not sure what i am going to use for the z axis the x y axis i used linear bearings and leadscrews but for the z i am finding it difficult to desing the axis

I don't know if this of help but here are some pictures of my Z axis. I still need to add a block to the anti-baclash nut to connect the router holder. Coupling, anti-backlash nut and thread clamps are from DumpsterCNC.

THanks very much for your reply what is the blue material you used for the construction and how much approx the assy would cost without the motor

The blue stuff is painted TUFNOL(I found this stuff lying around work so its was free but could use MDF instead). The linear bearings approx £30. Type in dumpsterCNC in this forums search engine for prices for coupling, anti-baclash nut and thread clamps(sorry for lack of link). Laminate trimmer was brand new of e-bay for £25 inc P & P. A real bargain as it also has speed control.
