Hi to all, My name si Balsanu Gabi and I live in Romania (you know that little contry from Eastern Europe). So I want to build a router with this specc: x= 3000 mm, y=2000mm, z=250mm (in don't know in inches I live in Europe !!! ). With this machine I want to cut (carve) wood, plastic, aluminum, copper, brass and GLASS. So I have some question for you:- base structure build from aluminum? - what kind of rails? - what kind of motors? - what kind of spindel (power)? In some words I would like to know what is your opinion. If you have to build this machine - your choice? I have a buget bethween 5000 and 9000 bucks. Thnx |

| I would use aluminum extrusion and jig plate aluminum (Mic6), for rails I would linear rails (Thomson, etc.), motors I would use servos, spindles.....well if you are looking at low cost.....I would use Joe Martin's spindles (Sherline's commercial spindles)... |

| Balsanu, Sorry to hear about the ban on conversion utilities in Romania. Your inch conversions are 118.11024 x 78.740157 x 9.8425197. In answer to your question, aluminum, steel, electric, and variable-speed w/fast for the glass. [don't know in inches] This reminds me of a story. I called a store and asked for directions and the lady politely game them to me, ending with "we are right at the corner". I followed that with "Which side of the corner, NE, SE...". Her reply... "I don't know N S E & W, only left & right. I'm a woman". This is a TRUE story. Rance (Sometimes a jerk) |

| thats ok, i was hauling a load of cars up north and had to stop for directions to a road that wasnt on my map, the lady i talked to said, and i quote, "you just go on up till you go under the second viaduct and then exit, you'd see the sign, cant miss it" i stood there dumbfounded, found some words, and said, "ma'am, im sorry, but what is a viaduct?" "dont you ma'am me, i'm not that old"(she was like 70) i walked back to the truck and asked my dad what's a viaduct, beats me, so we went up the road a ways, saw the sign, and found our drop off point... i asked the car dealer, and he said it's an overpass.. who'da thunk it?
