is there a simple diagram of the components

I would like to see a simple diagram of the entire system, labeling all the components, including circuit boards. With the size of this forum and the amount of cnc'ers here I thought one of you would have just the right one. I have been reading posts for days now and its all starting to make sense. If I knew what all the parts were called, I could actually talk intellegently about it, even if i cant spell.

thanks JK

That would be great! I understand what everything does, and without knowing much more than I do right now, could most likely build one. When I was done I would know what everything is called. Right now its foggy and I am trying to explain the system to 2 people, one does not have a computer and the other isnt going to spend the time to understand it, but he has the need for one and the MONEY TO BUILD IT!!! And guess what....I'm just the guy to build it for him and keep it in my shop.........for him, if you know what I mean.

I have read many posts of yours, your a big help to a lot of people, I bet.

Thanks much
JK

I know what you mean, I have both those things too. I dont kow how I missed the diagram the first time I read your reply, but I missed it.

I have seen it now. thanks , that explains the electronics and it makes sense.

What are the mechanical pieces called?
The router is the head.
The table is the table.

What do you call the carrage (s) the parts that the lead screws move (all 3) ?

Thanks again
JK

depends on who your talking to as to what you call them.. i call the moving part for the x axis the gantry, and then the part that rides on that that moves in the y the truck or trolley, and then the z isnt made yet, so i dont know what im gonna call it... my wife calls them all the slidey bits...

to me the word gantry makes me think overhead crane, and if you were to find the pictures of what im building, it looks like a model crane...

the router or motor that holds the cutting bit is the spindle, i think thats pretty universal term...

oh and you didnt miss the diagram, i went back and added it... sorry...
