My name is Noah and I am addicted to making cnc machines. Well I found this and other DIY CNC websites about three years ago and was instantly hooked. Since then I have completed two homemade lathes and two mills, yes they were fully operational and complete. I have already started gathering parts for my next two machines, one will be a 5'X9' router with servos! The problem is that I never use them but I just want to make more. I sold one of the lathes and gave a mill away to a newbie. I have made two things on the lathe I still have and nothing on the mill. I completely build the machines, run a few programs cutting air, and then start making another machine. I guess I just like making the machines themselves, I don't really have a desire to make anything with them (Unless its making parts for the next machine). Anyone else in the same boat?

| Hobbies cost money. Granted some are a lot less than others, but I think your true hobby is machine design and build. My machine has to earn it's keep. I havee been tweaking it to get the best precision possible with the stuff it's made of. It does work well, but not as fast as I'd like. I think the controller's may be a little undersized for this machine. At least the X axis. Only about 35 IPM. I have all the stuff here for a mill. I haven't even built it yet, but am already amassing stuff for my plasma cutter. I am a little different. I have a poduct that I produce. These machines are specifically built or going to be to do certain parts of this product. I simply cannot keep up with demand without the aid of these machines. I love to see my router cutting away while I am doing something else. Even though the machine has to work, I am still adicted to the buying, designing and building of these. It's a blast.
