Can 2 4' linear rails be placed together to end up with 8' of rail?? I didnt know if the block would hang up when it crosses the joint or not.

I have done that on both my machines so far. No problems at all as long as it's all lined up perfectly.

Consider using a helper block like the one in the picture, dont chamfer the rail ends too much as this will get the balls in the runnerblocks hurt .
