I built a router from plans I got from Bob Campbell I used 3/4 Amce rod for the Z & Y axis. The Z& Y axis move slow when I jog them useing the Joy stick ( I'm useing Dave's Kush Arcsin). Will that change when I use software? Or should I use better screws? Thanks,

nothing wrong with using the 3/4 screws you have 6tpi will gain you speed as compared to other screws with a higher tpi i have the same screws as well and i would never go to a lesser size screw what kind of driver are you using could be a power supply issue (need more voltage) how big are the motors and the table you ll need to give some specs before anyone can answer your questions

What voltage are the motors rated for? There's a lot of discussion among the Gecko drive crowd about providing more than the rated voltage for acceleration purposes from the power supply. I think they recommend a 4x factor or something. You'd have to be sure your controllers will do the right thing with extra voltage so as not to burn up the motors though. BW

might just be something as simple as the feed rate setting in jog mode, might just be low.. if not sure, try another piece of software. Kcam is easily configured for a quick test, and is pretty small, no wierd extra software handlers or drivers..
