| I've been browsing the forum daily for about a month. All the great ideas have pushed me to go ahead and try my own router. I purchased three servo motors with 500 line encoders off eBay. They are exactly like these. I'm wondering if they are going to draw too much power to be run from a gecko? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=42920 They say 1/3 hp on the label. If anybody could give me some idea of the formula that I need to look at to figure out how much power they will draw. Also I got a hold of some .2 pitch leadscrews. Will I be okay to drive these directly from the motor or will I need to look into some sort of gear reduction. Thanks in advance for any information anybody can give me and keep up the good work all. | you must be building a monster of a machine. i think they will be ok as long as you keep the current under 20 amps. they say 120 volts and you will only be able to run them at 80 volts using geckos. email marriss at gecko to be sure. -Dan |
