Hi,
I'm a novice at building CNC machines and I'm in the process of researching/designing a CNC router. After a week of research, I came up with
the following design and would be thankful if anyone with expertise would answer my questions.
CAD/CAM (BobCAD) ---> TurboCNC ---> Printer Port ---> C1 Isolation Board ---> 3-Axis Motor Driver ---> Motors ---> Router
My questions are as follows:
a) Is the "3 Axis System Kit" offered by Xylotex (
http://www.xylotex.com/3AxSysKit.htm) the best system I could use as a beginner?
b) Is my design workable as it is? or are there missing blocks that I'm forgetting about...
c) I bought the plans for a router that claims to be both cheap and simple at the following site:
http://crankorgan.com/morph.htm
is anyone familiar with it? Would you know the source of a simple/cheap router to build?
d) What do you suggest I should build the router from? I want it to cut through aluminum.
e) Why is the router Z-axis unable to move more than a few inches? is there any way to change the design to fix that issue?
Thanks in advance,
Hani A.
