Hi, I'm currently building my CNC router (just recieved all parts) and I discovered small metal milling machines and lathes and I'm more interested by that than by CNC. I just wondered for how much have you seen homemade machines sold. There's a description of my machine. How much do you think I could get for it?; -Travel: 18*12*4 in -Xylotex 3 axis kit with power supply, 279 oz in steppers and everything -Porter cable laminate trimmer spindle -The frame is a very well made 1'' MDF torsion box and it's also an enclosure -All leadscrews are ACME 1/2 10 precision with dumpster's leadnuts -Ajustment blocks on all shafts -X axis table is 1'' precision aluminum shaft with black oxyde coating (from Igus) and four Igus precision machined pillow blocks ( worth 50 usd each) -All leadnuts are attached to precision machined aluminum supports -Y asix is two Igus shafts as the x with 2 precision double pillow blocks ( worth 100 usd each) -Z axis support is a precision machined aluminum piece with mottor supports and the z shafts are press fitted in them -Z axis .75 in Igus bearing press fitted in a precision machined block/tool holder -X and Y motors support are custom machined in 6061 aluminum (very nice pieces) -Ball bearings on all leadscrews (the screw's ends are turned) -Flexbeam couplers on all axis (45 usd each) -The machined was completed designed with CATIA and very well built. Thanks a lot |

| By the way, If you are interested, just let me know. It would be perfect for somebody woh want to start this wonderfull hobby. You can get a nice machine. If you want to build your own frame, you would have all of the quality components and custom machined pieces in one place. |

| I would make a downloadable PDF with pictures for all the things listed above and layed out for people to see, and if it is a well built machine I think you could get 700.00-900.00 for a Good DIY Machine of that size. Last edited by joecnc2006; 04-28-2006 at 03:46 PM. |
