I do not have an engineering/electrical background but have CS degree and worked for a year doing blueprinting trying to help a company breakoff into a manuf. division during college. I am very interested in CNC - I would ultimately like to create a machine with an envelope of roughly 7' x 3' x 3'. Keeping this in mind, I found this web site: http://www.crankorgan.com/morph.htm "Morph will cut a 12" X 12" by 1-1/4" part. The machine can be built for under $100" Another CNC machine on the site @ $200 w/ envelope of over 9" x 14" x 3": http://www.crankorgan.com/7thsojourn.htm Since I have no knowledge of CNC (and not a whole lot of $$) do you guys think these kits would be a good place to start in reaching my goal of creating a large machine? Are there better plans I should look into, inorder to eventually reach my goal? What would be the difficulties in going from building a machine like the 7th Sojourn, listed above, to increasing the envelope to the size I need? Any help appreciated, as I don't know what I'm doing!! Chris |

| Have a look at this thread:http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...threadid=62920 It is about a guy who built a 7th sojourn. (a few other machines thrown in there too) Eric

| Chris: I bought the Brute plans. They're adequate, given the $30 price tag. You may have to get creative finding (substituting?) some of the specified parts. Not all the items called for are as common as crankorgan seems to think. robotic regards, Tom = = = = = "An honest God is the noblest work of man." (Robert G.
