who sells cheap cnc routers?

ive been thinking about building a cnc router but i'm not sure if i'm up the task.

who builds inexpensive routers? looking for about 12 X 48 size?

any suggestions?

I guess the big questions here are what do you consider "cheap" and what is the intend purpose.?

I want to cut up to 1/4" plywood max. it is simply for home/hobby use. I would not think it would need to be as nice as the k2 ones. and I do mean cheap

i'm guessing it will have to be a diy project if i want to do it for my price range...... looking at that k2 website prices site anyways. I remember a www.cheapcnc.com or something. what happened to that?

Really I think I can handle the xyz table but the electrics worry me.

There are a couple places around that will sell you a ready to go setup for the electrics portion if that is a concern. But of course you will have to pay for their time and effort.

I'm building the cnc router from the plans at www.hobbytoolplans.com that ger21 mentioned and all of the parts with the 3 axis setup from xylotex has come out to about $950 but thats not with the precut parts - I'm cutting them myself. Other than cutting some parts, this plan is easy to assemble with very clear plans and pictures throughout his manual.
