ACME Screws in the UK

Calling all UK members.....Help!

Does anyone know where in the UK you can purchase ACME screws and nuts at sensible prices, I could order from the US but I will then get hit for import duty and it makes the saving almost not worth having.

Any links to good UK suppliers would be well received

You might have better luck finding Trapezoidal screws, which are basically metric acme.

I would Recommend Marchantdice.com; they have sensible prices and to date have always given good (if not exceptionally fast) service. Unfortunately only the linear part of the website works but if you know what you want give him a ring to get a quote or have a look at his ebay shop (link from website) to get a rough idea of prices.

As far as I know Marchant Dice only does ball screws.

I know I've bought 20x4mm trapezoidal for ~ £30 a meter including the VAT with about £15 for a brass nut from marchantdice's shop on ebay. Trouble is on his ebay shop he tends to label everything up as ballscrew for the search engine. Allow about a month though if you want the ends machined.

btw if delrin nut are ok for you make them your self real easy and cheap.
What you using them on (mill router)?

I realise this is a little bit of an old thread but I've just bought from http://www.huco.com/products.asp?cat=326 I had trouble myself finding a supplier.

14x4 Trapezoidal, perhaps a bit 'flexible' ! arrived protected well but still bent somewhat. quite nice finish on the 'flanks'

they accept credit card.

I'll make Delrin nuts from the shaft.
