I used sketchup pro, the Sketchup 3d warehouse has many models of the CNC parts typically used. |

| i got some of my drawings from Thomsonlinear.com You can configure your rails/ballscrew setups and it gives you a 2-dimensional file or 3-dimensional file. Files that work in autocad, solidworks, etc. They have lots of options for file formats to download the file in. |

| I registered at Misumi, THK, and Kuroda. Once done I was able to dwnload any 3D CAD I wanted. I relied more on my desktop calculator to figure out all my clearances... I have to say, I used the 2D more, since my 3D CAD drawings still suck. What's cool is that you can configure how your parts are. For example you can specify the length of extrusion with Misumi, or the length of linerar rail and placement of trucks with THK, or length of ballscrew and position of ballnut, etc... |
